Done is Better than Perfect

pitching/portfolio

Do you feel like your portfolio has to be absolutely perfect before you can send it out to potential clients? I know how that goes. It never feels quite ready so you put off sending it out.

I'm here to tell you done is better than perfect. Get it done and send it out, and then come back later and make it better if you want to. If your portfolio is digital (rather than printed), it's especially easy to make updates.

My favorite way to make a portfolio is with Adobe InDesign because you can easily publish it online right through the program. Then if you make changes, you can republish it with the click of a few buttons. And the url doesn't change when you make updates, so whenever an art director opens your email and clicks on the link, the most recent version of your portfolio will come up.
